My stepdad sent me a video on Facebook claiming that the Chinese are buying up farmland in Oklahoma and Texas while building military bases in Jamaica and the Caribbean. I can't find this video any place other than Facebook.
This is my response...
I can find no evidence that China is building military bases in the Bahamas or Jamaica. China did offer aid and loans to countries ravaged by hurricanes. China appears to be increasing its influence in the area, as they have done throughout the world.
I see much speculation on the Internet about Chinese military bases in the Caribbean, but nothing more than that. Our country most likely would not stand for it.
China has been investing in the US for a long time. This is because of the trade deficit, so they take their excess dollars and buy businesses in the US.
