EV subsidies
The cost of producing electric vehicles (EVs) is far higher than the prices they are being sold for. Nearly $22 billion in federal and state subsidies and regulatory credits suppressed the retail price of EVs in 2021 by an average of almost $50,000.- Thanks to an unlawful multiplier, EVs receive nearly seven times more credits under federal fuel efficiency programs than they provide in actual fuel economy benefits.
- Regulatory credits with bonus EV multipliers from federal fuel efficiency and greenhouse gas emissions standards and state EV sales mandates provide an average of $27,881 in benefits per vehicle for producers of EVs.
- Home and public charging stations used by EVs put a significant strain on the electric grid, resulting in an average of $11,833 in socialized costs per EV over 10 years, which are shouldered by utility ratepayers and taxpayers.
- Direct state and federal subsidies for EVs average $8,984 per vehicle over 10 years.

Genocidal Youth
This is not normal. Such a moral perversion is not an organic belief that naturally emerges among decent people. On the contrary, it's in large part the consequence of a corrosive and malevolent "social justice" ideology that's being spoon-fed to young Americans on college campuses.
In this depraved worldview, which Elon Musk has dubbed the "woke mind virus," the world is divided into two groups of people: oppressors and oppressed. Black people, for example, are oppressed in America. So, under this lens, Black Americans cannot be racist: They can only be victims of racism.
Meanwhile, "misgendering" someone is violence, even though it doesn't actually involve any violence. Actual violence in response to this speech is justified as "self-defense."
Truth, and therefore morality, is subjective, in this worldview. Hence the normalization of the innocuous-sounding but actually Orwellian phrase "my truth," "your truth," or "his truth."
This heierarchy-obssessed perspective does not actually describe reality. In the real world, there are shades of grey.

Re: Bet NO ONE told you this about Canola Oil
From: John
I have seen much that I would regard as paranoia about "seed oils". I wanted to present research that counters all the negativity about Canola Oil. It claims that Canola Oil has health benefits similar to Olive Oil. I use both. This is interesting because Canola Oil is much cheaper.
I am always open to new research. One problem with Internet articles and videos is that most of it is hearsay and opinion presented as fact. I have to be careful with videos like this because they could be misinterpreting the studies. When possible, I try to find actual scientific papers.

Re: One day, a computer will fit on a desk (1974) | RetroFocus
From: Albert
It's interesting how he thought we would have a workstation at home that would connect to the mainframe. A desktop/laptop PC can do this using the internet, but operate independently using software. Imagine if someone told him, the workstation idea would fit in your pocket and be taken for granted as your phone because it would be part of your mobile smartphone.
It was a good statement about the future. Are we better off as a society? We should be, but are we?

The Take: Will the Gaza hospital attack be a turning point for the world? | Israel-Palestine conflict News | Al Jazeera
Why Google News links to Al Jazeera is a mystery. It is full of the lies. This isn't the first time they blamed a Hamas attack on Israel.
