The Governments Hidden Plan To Raise Gas Prices | Not About Oil

About 2/3 of the points made by Mark Moss about the current energy crisis are things I have heard before.  However, his other points contain a great deal of good information on how government regulation is messing up the energy sector.

He gets a little conspiratorial by suggesting that the government wants to nationalize the oil industry, without definitely coming to this conclusion.  However, his support for this idea is extremely weak, and I have little reason to believe it.

Dave Chappelle Narrates the Sad Story of His Trans Friend

This is very interesting...

If I identified as a dog, and surgically altered myself to look like a dog, that would not make me a dog, no matter how much I wanted to be a dog.  (If I identified as a Chess Grandmaster....)

I realize that around half a percent of the population feel like they should be of the opposite sex.  One's mental state nor desire causes something to be real.  People should deal with their mental health issues as best as they are able...

"Transsexuals and sex-change operations are receiving a great deal of attention. Young people may seek treatment for transsexual attractions at an early age even though these attractions may go away on their own. Psychological conflicts have been identified in these patients and their parents and may be successfully treated. There are serious risks associated with sex change. They include the risk of depressive illness and suicide. Physicians and mental-health professionals should know these risks and the regrets of those who have been through sex-change operations. These patients and their families also should be informed of other treatment options...

In a 2015, Boston study of 180 transsexual youth who had undergone SRS (106 female-to-male; 74 male-to-female), these youth had a twofold to threefold increased risk of psychiatric disorders, including depression, anxiety disorder, suicidal ideation, suicide attempt, self-harm without lethal intent, and both inpatient and outpatient mental health treatment compared to a control group of youth"

This would not normally be an issue, except they have tried to force the issue on us.  I personally have refused to call a male a female because that would be a lie.  They want me to lie to protect someone's feelings.  Jordan Peterson became famous for campaigning against compelled speech laws in Canada.   His job was threatened.  An actress that I very much like, Gina Carano, had her career almost completely ruined for refusing to use preferred pronouns.  There was a several month long campaign to get her fired and subsequently she was fired from a show that I like, and her talent agency dropped her.

In England, police penalize people for what they call "non-crimes", which can include statements interpreted as transphobic.

There is a much broader campaign of "divide and conquer."   You can see this in every single issue that is controversial right now.  Marxists invented "Critical Race Theory" in 1960 because the old class divisions no longer worked.  As long as they can divide people into groups opposed to each other, it becomes possible for 10% of the population to control the political agenda.

Part of this strategy is faux outrage.  The political left will do something outrageous, and then play the victim when we object to it.  This appeals to our empathy because we don't want to victimize anyone, so we are more likely to go along.  This includes attacks on free speech, which the far left is completely against.

Fact-Checking The Media On Critical Race Theory

Given that race is just an arbitrary concept that we made up to build walls between us, we need to stop looking at everything through the lens of race, and treat people as individuals.

Why Twitter Is Insane - YouTube

This entire video could be summarized by four words, "Twitter is a cesspool."  Of course, Twitter is just a tool, and it is up to you how you use it.  It tends to lead to mob psychology and slander.  I would like to have the ability to ban people from my posts, and maybe this is possible, but I don't know since I have deleted my Twitter account.   I never found it very appealing.

Spinal cord repair

Eventually, this may be very useful.

---------- Forwarded message ---------
From: Larry

A drug under investigation as a cancer treatment has shown exciting promise in a rather different branch of medical research, with scientists demonstrating how it can promote nerve repair following spinal injury. The breakthrough shows how the drug acts on a DNA damage response mechanism at play in both these unrelated conditions, and triggers a "remarkable" recovery in mice with injured spinal cords.

The Intellectual Roots Of 'Wokeness'

J.K. Rowling Writes about Her Reasons for Speaking out on Sex and Gender Issues - J.K. Rowling

On Saturday morning, I read that the Scottish government is proceeding with its controversial gender recognition plans, which will in effect mean that all a man needs to 'become a woman' is to say he's one. To use a very contemporary word, I was 'triggered'. Ground down by the relentless attacks from trans activists on social media, when I was only there to give children feedback about pictures they'd drawn for my book under lockdown, I spent much of Saturday in a very dark place inside my head, as memories of a serious sexual assault I suffered in my twenties recurred on a loop. That assault happened at a time and in a space where I was vulnerable, and a man capitalised on an opportunity.  I couldn't shut out those memories and I was finding it hard to contain my anger and disappointment about the way I believe my government is playing fast and loose with womens and girls' safety.

Late on Saturday evening, scrolling through children's pictures before I went to bed, I forgot the first rule of Twitter – never, ever expect a nuanced conversation – and reacted to what I felt was degrading language about women. I spoke up about the importance of sex and have been paying the price ever since. I was transphobic, I was a cunt, a bitch, a TERF, I deserved cancelling, punching and death. You are Voldemort said one person, clearly feeling this was the only language I'd understand.

It would be so much easier to tweet the approved hashtags – because of course trans rights are human rights and of course trans lives matter – scoop up the woke cookies and bask in a virtue-signalling afterglow. There's joy, relief and safety in conformity. As Simone de Beauvoir also wrote, "… without a doubt it is more comfortable to endure blind bondage than to work for one's liberation; the dead, too, are better suited to the earth than the living."

Huge numbers of women are justifiably terrified by the trans activists; I know this because so many have got in touch with me to tell their stories. They're afraid of doxxing, of losing their jobs or their livelihoods, and of violence.

But endlessly unpleasant as its constant targeting of me has been, I refuse to bow down to a movement that I believe is doing demonstrable harm in seeking to erode 'woman' as a political and biological class and offering cover to predators like few before it. I stand alongside the brave women and men, gay, straight and trans, who're standing up for freedom of speech and thought, and for the rights and safety of some of the most vulnerable in our society: young gay kids, fragile teenagers, and women who're reliant on and wish to retain their single sex spaces. Polls show those women are in the vast majority, and exclude only those privileged or lucky enough never to have come up against male violence or sexual assault, and who've never troubled to educate themselves on how prevalent it is.

The one thing that gives me hope is that the women who can protest and organise, are doing so, and they have some truly decent men and trans people alongside them. Political parties seeking to appease the loudest voices in this debate are ignoring women's concerns at their peril. In the UK, women are reaching out to each other across party lines, concerned about the erosion of their hard-won rights and widespread intimidation. None of the gender critical women I've talked to hates trans people; on the contrary. Many of them became interested in this issue in the first place out of concern for trans youth, and they're hugely sympathetic towards trans adults who simply want to live their lives, but who're facing a backlash for a brand of activism they don't endorse.

Why Fixating on Race Is Harmful

Another explanation of Critical Race Theory:

Critical Race theory comes from Marxist Critical Theory:

Anyone regardless of race, who integrate into main society is "White".

Capitalism is racism.

There are two types of smoke alarm. One of 'em ain't so good

Re: Opposing Evil

Sometimes you have to take a stand or nothing gets fixed.  People continue to suffer.

I have advocated a slowly increasing tariff on Chinese goods until they are willing to respect some human rights.  We can adapt.  The only value China has to us is cheap labor.  We can find other countries with cheap labor, for example, Mexico, or rely more on automation.  Besides, China would probably cave eventually.

China comes to mind.

The one and possibly only thing that I agree with Jimmy Carter on is that we should insist on Human Rights when dealing with other countries. There is too much human suffering, and too many people willing to inflict that suffering.

Watch "Science Proves What We Suspected Was True About Them" on YouTube

It is easy to say that something is wrong with the Political Left if they don't have the same level of disgust that we do, but what if that were the norm?   My tendency toward disgust is pretty high, which is probably why I am the way I am.  However, I might be the abnormal one.

I think that there is a big range of human tendencies.  Everyone feels a little bit of anxiety, depression, fear, neuroticism, and compulsiveness.  It is when one of these normal human traits becomes exaggerated to the point of being a problem that it becomes a mental illness.

It is hard to imagine living anywhere else, but I have imagined where I would go if the socialists took over the United States.  First I would go to Canada, but then maybe someplace better.  Some of the freest countries in the world include New Zealand, Australia, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein, and the Isle of Man.

What the BA.5 Subvariant Could Mean for the United States - The New York Times

The most transmissible variant yet of the coronavirus is threatening a fresh wave of infections in the United States, even among those who have recovered from the virus fairly recently.

The subvariant of Omicron known as BA.5 is now dominant, according to federal estimates released Tuesday, and together with BA.4, another subvariant, it is fueling an outbreak of cases and hospitalizations.

"I think there's an underappreciation of what it's going to do to the country, and it already is exerting its effect," said Eric Topol, a professor of molecular medicine at Scripps Research, who has written about the subvariant.

BA.5 and BA.4, both subvariants of the Omicron variant that swept the world during the winter, are the most capable versions of the virus yet at evading immunity from previous infections and vaccines. Both variants have mutations in their spike proteins that are different enough from earlier versions of the virus that they are able to dodge some antibodies.

Waves of infection — and the subsequent immunity that comes with them — vary across countries and make for imperfect comparisons. Vaccination rates also vary. But in places where BA.4 and BA.5 have been dominant for weeks or months, the subvariants have caused increases in cases and hospitalizations, despite some population immunity from previous waves

Are You Proud To Be An American?

Great Reset - Wikipedia

three core components of the Great Reset: the first involves creating conditions for a "stakeholder economy"; the second component includes building in a more "resilient, equitable, and sustainable" way—based on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) metrics which would incorporate more green public infrastructure projects; the third component is to "harness the innovations of the Fourth Industrial Revolution" for public good.[2][3] In her keynote speech opening the dialogues, International Monetary Fund director Kristalina Georgieva listed three key aspects of the sustainable response: green growth, smarter growth, and fairer growth.[4][1]

At the launch event for the Great Reset, Prince Charles listed key areas for action, similar to those listed in his Sustainable Markets Initiative, introduced in January 2020. These included the re-invigoration of science, technology and innovation, a move towards net zero emissions globally, the introduction of carbon pricing, re-inventing longstanding incentive structures, rebalancing investments to include more (though not all) green investments, and encouraging green public infrastructure projects
