The first replacement for religion was Marxism and Communism.  

BTW.  Critical Race Theory is a derivative of Critical Marxist Theory.  Marxists wrote in the 1960s about the need to shift from class consciousness to race consciousness.  This new movement has been brewing for my entire life.
