The increase in executive power has largely resulted from left-leaning policies that gave regulatory agencies the authority to create laws without the approval of Congress or the President. Both the left and the right contributed to this situation, but mostly the left.

I don't believe Trump has behaved as badly as his predecessors. He attempted some actions that were struck down by the courts, but he did so with the understanding that their legality would ultimately be decided through the judicial process.

I believe we are facing many serious problems, many of which were caused by executive actions taken by Trump's predecessors. To address these issues, Trump tried to use the tools available to him under current law.
