COVID-19 Utah, Indiana, USA, and world

Compared to Indiana, Utah is doing pretty well. The percentage of Deaths in Indiana is at least 5%, and it is about 1% in Utah. I just compared the populations of Indiana and Utah, and it is 6.7 million to 3.2 million. I remember when Utah was just 2 million people.

Twelve days ago we were at two million cases, and 12 days before that we were just over a million.

Fwd: Racism and COVID-19

---------- Forwarded message ---------
From: Albert Nelms

Have you ever noticed it's always about race in this country? I'm sure you know they're Black Canadians, Black Britons, Black Frenchmen, Black Italians, Black Spaniards, etc., etc. Remember the last article you read about how the white people in these countries were racists toward their black countrymen? I didn't think so. The U.S. in particular has powerful forces at play to keep us divided. Playing the race card at every opportunity is one way to keep us divided for no reason whatsoever.

Given the current situation, I remembered a commercial from 49 years ago. Although it is not directly related, it sort of applies:

Three episodes of "The Twilight Zone" with their separate stories, characters, and locations that were each about themes of loneliness.
From top to bottom: "Where is Everybody", "Time Enough at Last", and "The Lonely".

The number of new cases for today is slightly higher than the recent average, both national and worldwide.

The Indiana page on COVID-19 now gives information about ICU and Ventilator usage. That's a scary thought.

Food and Walmart pickup service

I've been making ham and melted cheddar cheese sandwiches with pickles. This is not something I would eat before the crisis, but I'm taking whatever I can get. I have actually gotten addicted to these, but now I'm out of ham, cheese, and bread. I have scheduled my next Walmart pickup to be 11:00 AM, Sunday because it appears to be harder to schedule the time slots. It is likely that more people are using the pickup service.

I used to be like, "Who would be so lazy that can't do their own shopping?"

Best wishes,

John Coffey
